National Rifle Association endorses Senator Golden
October 11, 2006 -- Atlanta, GA -- State Sen. Tim Golden (D-Valdosta) has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in his candidacy for re-election to Senate District 8.

“Our endorsement is because you are a pro-Second Amendment, pro-hunting candidate who supports sportsmen and gun owners on every issue,” said Jennifer H. Palmer, Georgia State Liaison for the NRA, in a letter to Golden announcing the endorsement.

The NRA praised Golden for his consistent, solid record of supporting tougher crime laws and for continuing to vote to protect hunters, sportsmen and the gun owners of South Georgia in the State Senate.

“I am very pleased to have the support of the NRA and its members in the November 7 General Election,” Golden said. “As long as I am in the State Senate, I will vote to uphold the constitutional right of sportsmen and law-abiding citizens to bear arms.”
