Small Business Endorses Tim Golden in Senate District 8

September 27, 2006 -- Atlanta, GA --The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia’s leading small-business advocacy group, today announced its endorsement of incumbent Tim Golden in Senate District 8. Golden, an NFIB member, has been a strong supporter of small business in Atlanta.

“Tim Golden is a solid advocate for small-business owners,” NFIB/Georgia State Director David Raynor said. “His stance on important free-enterprise issues is significantly helping small businesses in District 8 and across the state. NFIB members know Tim Golden can be counted on to promote and protect their right to own, operate and grow their businesses.”

“The endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Business is very important to me,” Golden said. “Earning the trust of small-business owners, our state’s No. 1 job creators, validates we’re on the right track in District 8 and in Georgia. We must continue to help free enterprise flourish in Georgia, and I will take that message again to Atlanta.”

NFIB’s endorsement is a key one for Golden. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged to Golden that it will activate its grassroots network on his behalf.

Golden serves on the following committees: Interstate Cooperation (Vice Chairman), Higher Education, Insurance and Labor, and Science and Technology. Senate District 8 encompasses Brooks and Lowndes counties and part of Cook and Thomas counties. The general election will be held Nov. 7.

NFIB’s political support is based on the candidate’s position and record on small-business issues. Tim Golden’s endorsement comes from the NFIB/Georgia SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Georgia’s membership. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of Georgia’s small-business owners to the Tim Golden campaign.
