Golden recognized as Champion of Family Medicine

August 29, 2006 - State Sen. Tim Golden (D-Valdosta) was one of three members of the Georgia General Assembly honored by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians at the academy’s Legislative Champions of Family Medicine Dinner last weekend at Callaway Gardens. Golden, state Rep. Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta) and Sen. Don Thomas (R-Dalton) met with approximately 70 family physician leaders from around the state and discussed a number of health care issues facing the state. Dr. Rick Wherry, GAFP Legislative Co-Chair, introduced the Legislative Champions of Family Medicine to the audience. Golden was also recently honored by the Georgia Hospital Association as recipient of its Legislative Leadership Award.
